Commercial Analyst to SSP Nordics

What makes the role as Commercial Analyst at SSP exciting?

We are in a period of change building a new Nordics Region for our business. We are looking for a Commercial Analyst who will support the Category Manager to create commercial plans for a category or portfolio of brands within a category.
Reporting to the Commercial Analytics Director you'll be placed at one of our offices, either at Arlanda Airport - Stockholm or Vantaa Airport -Helsinki, working across the whole Nordics.

Overall role:

As a Commercial Analyst your main duty is to support the Category management team to create the commercial/category plan for each of the specified brand or brands to delivering like-for-like sale growth, gross margin improvement, and stretch EBITDA target.

Main responsibilities:

. Ensure effective analysis of activities within commercial plans.
. Submit proposed sales and gross margin improvement activities to weekly and monthly commercial forum meetings.
. Support the Category Team to ensure preparation analysis is completed
. Working alongside Commercial managers with new openings for modelling of forecast sales mix at product level
. Pricing trial elasticity reviews.
. Ensure control of product trials is managed and analysis shared with key stakeholders.
. Look for optimisation opportunities.


To succeed in this role you need to have a Marketing degree or equivalent work experience. You have a good understanding of the impact of external factors on growth and a good understanding of the operational reality. You must to be able to drive decision-making through analysis based on evidence. Experience of delivering profit targets is preferred and experience in a sales environment also desirable. It is meritorious if you have experience of using price, range, display and space, upselling, margin and category optimisation to deliver commercial results but new graduates with the right attitude are also welcome to apply. Advanced Microsoft Excel expertise skills required.

If you have the ability to focus effort on most profitable outcome- you will fit into this role. As a person you are analytical, commercial and data-driven with exceptional attention to details. You must be fluent English in spoken and written and preferably any additional Nordic language.
